I'm surprised in the year 2022 these things haven't improved. After a gentle 15 min brew It boils the coffee and I mean ROLLING BOIL for a few minutes before FINALLY clicking over into the " keep warm mode " anyone that knows coffee knows what that does to it. ....I've had this for a while now...the size is great for large gatherings or serious coffee drinkers, it also cleans well. The only problem I have had is the internal breaker tripping and having to reset it - which is luckily on the side and not the bottom so it's a quick button push, just need to pay attention to the light to make sure it's operating.I bought this for large parties. We’re a large coffee drinking family. Worked great. The appearance was wonderful. We use it a lot. I would highly recommend thisSo far, so good. Have only used it twice, but here is my experience so far:- First of all, for those who are interested, the product is MADE IN CHINA.- Quality seems pretty decent. The power button and tap seem solid. It is not very heavy though - I was expecting it to be heavier. Will be easy to transport to parties.- Right out of the box, it was easy to set up. I filled it with water to see how many of my mugs could be filled when it was maxed out. I drained it through the tap and got about 20 regular size mugs out of it. Mine are just regular mugs, not the oversize ones and not the smaller dainty ones that usually come with your grandmother's china set. Based on the product description, I knew I was not going to get 30 with my mugs. I am happy with the 20 cups. Also, I had to tip it at the end to get a 3-4 of the remaining cups out of it. I wonder if this is a safety feature for the machine itself, so it does not run dry and burn out.- Filled the machine again to the top marker and made a test batch of coffee. I used the same amount of grinds that I would have used to make 20 mugs in my auto drip.- I came back after 40 minutes, and the coffee was ready (machine had switched to the "keep warm" setting). The coffee came out really good and exactly as I expected. I highly recommend doing the test batch to find your preferred strength.- One thing to note, on my machine the front water marker never changed from clear to dark color, even after the coffee was brewed and after I tapped a few cups.- The outside of the machine gets hot, but not dangerously hot. You would not burn yourself by touching it, but you wouldn't want to hold your hand on it either. The top lid gets much hotter, so do be careful there. It's very nice that the lid locks in place too.- The coffee comes out VERY hot, which is nice in my opinion. Just make sure the tap is out of kids reach.- After brewing, I poured myself 1 cup and then I turned the machine completely off and waited:* AFTER 30 MINUTES: coffee was steaming hot - basically the same as when the power was on* AFTER 60 MINUTES: still very hot - lots of steam coming off the coffee once it was in the mug* AFTER 90 MINUTES: still steaming! I think you could let it sit for 3 hours and still have reasonably hot coffee.- For the price, I am really happy with this purchase. Looking forward to using it when we entertain.- As others have mentioned, the only fault I can find is the hard-wired power cord. Wish it was detachable....It's easy to use and makes a good amount of coffee at one time, but I cannot find a good balance to make a good cup of coffee. Usually it comes out too strong, but it's also possible to easily make it too weak. I do measure out by tablespoon and try different amounts and I have tried changing coffee brands.I have had other urns and I don't know why this one isn't working out for me.My husband is fine with the super strong coffee, but I have just opted to use my french press or buy coffee out. This would be fine for an AA meeting or potluck where you aren't necessarily expecting a great cup of coffee, but for home use it's not what I want. The keep warm feature is awesome. Love the large capacity also. I have only used this for water. I am unsure how effective the pot is for coffee.Works great and tastes greatThe urn seems to work fine so far, no complaints there. I am however concerned that an urn which has 'professional' in the product listing, and shows pictures of being out in a banquet setting, says 'for household use only' in the instructions. Really? What household needs a 30 cup coffee urn? This seems like a cheap way to intentionally invalidate the warranty "you were using it in a commercial setting which is against the directions". I look very poorly on companies who pull this kind of thing. I spent almost $90 on a 'professional' coffee urn. I expect it to perform consistently, and perform well. It should not be so limited in its own directions. This is my first urn-style coffee maker. It only requires two cups of grounds to make a full 30 cups which isn't too bad. It took 35 minutes for the ready light. The coffee is very hot, but has good flavor. No plastic taste either! The total height is 17.5 inches including the plastic handle on top. The grounds appear to be evenly soakedOne downside is that it does make a constant 'boiling' noise after the brew cycle is complete and while in 'Keep warm' mode. Although I'm sure if you shut the machine off it would still stay hot enough for an hour or two. I'm satisfied so far!Great product when it works. I bought this back in June 2019, and have had a few months of great coffee. The reset button is now sticking on the side which prevents it from making coffee. The goal with it is to make coffee once per day daily and turn the coffee maker off once it is all consumed. We haven't had a problem with this on other models, but thought the Nesco model was superior.I've contacted Amazon for a replacement now after having it for 5-months. Hoping the next one lasts longer. The calcium build up is insane inside.I have to clean it out all the time and it’s just keep building up.And it’s only 3 months old and we need to get a new one already.update: NOISIEST machine!!! the company ended up sending me a new one and the new one is the exact same... it sounds like its taking off sometimes. its very noisy and i need to clean it weekly to use it. its such a frustrating machine,Esta cafetera cuenta con un interruptor termico con reinicio manual que sale sumamente defectuoso pues corta la corriente de la resistencia antes de que el agua logre salir por el tubo de aspersión. me fallo antes de 6 meses de uso y no hay refacciones. no tiren su dinero eviten comprarla
